Special note for patients with private insurance:

Our office does NOT want you to be surprised by a bill. Legally, we must always bill your health plan based on actual services provided.

​

If your child is being seen for a preventative medicine visit/annual exam and a new or ongoing problem is identified and/or discussed at the same visit (ex: ADHD, depression, asthma, etc.) both services will be billed. Therefore, your insurance company may process your claim for both the office visit and preventative visit, resulting in a copayment or deductible.

Remember, physical exams are prevention focused, not problem focused. Preventative Medicine exams are also known as “comprehensive preventive medical evaluations and management” that focuses on medical, social and family history, physical exam and review of body systems, review of medications, immunizations, and screenings and/or anticipatory guidance for age-specific risk factors.
