Driving? Put down that phone!
The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) recently published findings from a study about parents who text and drive. Interestingly, more than 50% of parents, regardless of age, thought it was “never” safe to text while driving. Even more interesting, almost two-thirds of these same parents have read texts and more than half of them have written texts.
Did you know?
It is illegal in the state of Michigan to read, type or send text messages while driving unless it is a medical emergency, reporting a traffic accident or a serious road hazard (Section 257.602b).

Just remember, your little one is watching you from the backseat and learning from what you are doing. We don’t want our children to grow up thinking texting and driving is acceptable. For not only the safety of your child, but also for your safety, we encourage you to put your phone down and focus on the road and other drivers around you.
